Reclaimed Floorboards

Our timber floorboards are made from reclaimed scaffold boards and are a great, sustainable option for projects of all sizes, giving new life to timber that would otherwise be discarded.

Reclaimed timber boards are checked and put through a wire brushing machine that carefully cleans up the wood and enhances the grain. 

Our reclaimed floor boards can be used for interior floors, as well as exterior decking - please select the board type you require when ordering, or select 'raw' to treat the wood yourself.

Interior Floorboards:

Boards for internal use are sealed with a matte varnish which is hard wearing and designed to withstand frequent footfall. We use a matte finish varnish which results in a low sheen finish to the wood, to both protect the boards and toughen the surface. Like any other natural flooring, re-treatment is recommended every few years and if your space is a high traffic area, we always recommend a second coat on-site when installed, with at least 72 hours of drying time.

We also offer the option of extra sanding and matte varnish for our interior boards, should you want a slightly more polished look and feel.

Exterior Floorboards:

Boards for exterior use need to be treated to a higher degree due to moisture and weathering. We treat our exterior wood with a clear wood preserver to one side which adds a layer of protection to the surface. Please ensure the treated surface is laid with the treated side facing outwards. It is recommended that exterior floorboards are laid with a 5mm air gap between them to allow the boards to dry out. 

Although we offer a clear wood preserver option, like any other outdoor wood we recommend you re-seal your exterior boards every 12 months.
